The US employment-based fifth preference category visa (EB-5) programme was initially introduced in 1990 to stimulate the US economy through capital investments and job creation. Today, after multiple revisions throughout the years, the programme offers the investors a green card (permanent residence), in exchange for a significant investment in the country’s economy.
Currently there are two investment options available to choose from – direct active investment and a regional center passive investment. Additionally, after holding the Green Card for a minimum of five years, the applicants are eligible to apply for American citizenship.
